“The rules texts issued today by Rules Committee Chairman Guillermo Valles Galmés provide the vehicle °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø×ÊÁÏ members need to move to the next stage of the negotiations. The texts are ambitious and balanced in all three areas they cover — fisheries subsidies, anti-dumping and subsidies — and they will enable negotiators to work in a more intensive manner in the coming weeks. Text-based negotiations involving the entire °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø×ÊÁÏ membership represent the only path to agreement in the Doha Round and the release of these rules texts should facilitate broader discussions in the months ahead,” said Director-General Pascal Lamy.
